0 - Ten Commandments for our children.

ree

I owe Dennis Prager and his commentary on the Exodus a truly internalized, uninhibited reading of the Decalogue. These Ten Words (or Ten Commandments), previously dry from a distant desert and from a strange people, have become for me a central document in my moral and intellectual life. I keep coming back to them and try as much as I can to introduce them to my children, as Deuteronomy 6:4 “invites" us (this is part of the Covenant Contract…). Scholarly comments abound of course and we have drawn on them, but how to talk about the Decalogue to children aged 5-6? The following lines take up what we found to say to ours. We hope that they will provide you some way to start the conversation with yours !
